D3Vlicious Builder Feature – Project GiantSword

This feature was originally posted back on October 19, 2011 in the original version of the D3vlicious blog.

This edition of the D3Vlicious Builder Feature is special as it doesn’t feature just a single person, but rather the two person team behind Project GiantSword – Valbjorn and Montoia.

Dark Knight Themed HTML5 Stream Control Scoreboard for XSplit Broadcaster and OBS

While running a tournament stream a couple of weeks ago with Offcast, I noticed that the Build Fighter style scoreboard we used didn’t really work with the DC Comic’s fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us. As such, I decided to go and create a scoreboard overlay specifically for that game. Continue reading

Kensanity Project Fatality Stick (Custom By Bencao74)

This is one custom project whose final result actually surprised me because I had no idea I was working on a custom at the time. Continue reading

“Berserker Barrage” MvC2 Wolverine Custom

This entry was originally posted on June 19, 2010 in the original version of the D3vlicious blog.

On occasion, custom stick builders will commission art from me for their builds (either for their own use or for their customers). One such builder is a gentleman who goes by the name spenzalii at the Shoryuken.com forums. Spenzalii was the first builder who asked me to do art for his custom build, in this case this fine Marvel VS. Capcom 2 stick which he built for a friend. Continue reading

D3Vlicious Builder Feature – B15SDM

This feature was originally posted back on August 11, 2011 on the original version of the D3vlicious blog.

A few months back, I had this idea of doing something that would put a bit more focus on stick builders and modders. These guys are the unsung heroes of the fighting game community, enabling us to play on games on, not just controllers that recreate part of the arcade experience, but in some cases, are certifiable works of art. The result of this is the “D3Vlicious Builder Feature,” this first installment featuring that genius of paint and wood (and soon, acrylic), the man known as b15sdm.

Gundam Build Fighters Style HTML5 StreamControl Scoreboard for XSplit Broadcaster and OBS

UPDATE: I’ve added a special text box that scrolls in on the lower third of the screen. This can be used for the commentator cam or any view away from the gameplay where you want to identify the people in the shot.

One of the things I’ve been learning how to do is to create HTML 5 based stream overlays for XSplit Broadcaster and OBS using Farpenoodle’s Stream Control. As part of the learning process, I’ve been creating a bunch of scoreboard and overlays for use on streams, one of which is this Gundam Build Fighters inspired scoreboard. Continue reading

Welcome to the New D3Vlicious Blog

Back when I started the original D3Vlicious.com site, it was originally just supposed to be a site for me to post share my stuff related to fighting games and the arcade sticks we play them on. After the first few months however, the site became more and more like an actual fighting game news site with a bit of focus towards arcade sticks and hardware as I tried to see if I could pull more page views. Now while that didn’t work out as well as I had thought, it did help open the door to me writing for the Shoryuken.com front page as well as helping out on SDTECHIN.com.

With that done, the question remained of what to do with my original site. After a bit of soul searching, I’ve decided to bring the site back to what it originally was, a place for me to write about fighting games and show off the stuff that I do for the community. Continue reading

Gunbat – My Darkstalkers Shoot ’em Up Fangame

Back in 2010, I got it in my head to try to make a Darkstalkers fan-game. I chose to make it a shoot ’em up based on the fact that Morrigan (my favorite Darkstalkers character) had previously appeared in Psikyo’s Gunbird games. In addition to this, I had am idea of how a fighting game style super meter could be implemented in a shoot ’em up game. The result of this is Gunbat, the first and (as of this writing) only game I’ve ever made. Continue reading
